Rick serves as the CEO and Chairman of SensCy, founded in 2022 – an innovative young company which provides comprehensive cybersecurity support the millions of unserved small and medium-sized organizations in need of greater cybersecurity. It recently launched a third-party cyber risk solution to better protect the business networks, supply chains, and portfolio investments of larger organizations. Rick also sits on the Public Affairs Advisory Board of Palo Alto Networks.

In 2019, Rick established RPAction, LLC, a management consulting firm offering services including strategic planning, team development, mergers and acquisitions, and mediation.

From 2011 – 2018, Rick was the 48th Governor of Michigan. He led a bottom 10 state to top 10 status in eight years. Michigan became a national and regional leader in job creation and increases in per capita income. He was responsible for restructuring Detroit, which was critical to enabling its great comeback. Multiple other major economic, educational, infrastructure, cybersecurity and quality of life programs were implemented during his tenure.

From 1997 – 2009, Rick Snyder formed two of the largest venture capital funds in the state. Avalon Investments, Inc., a $100MM fund focused on technology-oriented ventures. Ardesta was one of the nation’s largest investment firms focused on micro and nanotechnology companies at that time.

From 1991 to 1997, he served as EVP and then President and COO of Gateway, Inc. The company grew from a privately held $600 million company to a NYSE-traded organization with revenues in exceeding $6 billion. He served as non-executive Chairman of the Board of Gateway from 2005 to 2007.

From 1982 to 1991, Rick was with Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). In 1989, he was named partner in charge of the M&A practice in C&L’s Chicago office.  From 1982 to 1984, Rick served as an adjunct assistant professor of accounting at the University of Michigan.

Rick studied at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of General Studies degree with high distinction in 1977, a Master of Business Administration with distinction in 1979, and a Juris Doctor in 1982. He completed his third degree at age 23.
