Wendi Whitmore is the Chief Security Intelligence Officer at Palo Alto Networks, where she leads efforts to transform today’s most sophisticated cyber threats into actionable intelligence to help organizations build lasting cyber resilience. With over 20 years of experience, Wendi has built and led incident response and threat intelligence teams that have helped organizations respond to some of the most significant breaches in history. Before her current role, she was Senior Vice President and head of Unit 42 at Palo Alto Networks, where she built a global team of analysts, responders, and researchers focused on stopping advanced threats.
Wendi serves as the chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the Duke University Master of Engineering in Cybersecurity (MECS) and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Cybersecurity. She was previously an inaugural member of the Cyber Safety Review Board, launched by the United States Department of Homeland Security. Wendi also serves on the University of San Diego’s Master of Science in Cybersecurity Engineering Industry Advisory Board.
Wendi joined Palo Alto Networks from IBM, where she led the global X-Force incident response, threat intelligence, incident command, and cyber range teams. She previously held executive-level positions in the professional services organizations of CrowdStrike and Mandiant. Wendi began her career as a Special Agent conducting computer crime investigations with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations.
