Ambassador Massimo Marotti is the Managing Director for Strategy and Cooperation at the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency.

His previous main positions include Diplomatic Advisor to the Minister of Defence from (February 2020-April 2023); Ambassador to Lebanon (2015-2020); Ambassador to Iraq from (2013-2015); Deputy Director-General for Political Affairs and International Security; Alternate Italian Representative to the UN Security Council (2006-2008), and Economic Counsellor at the Italian Embassy to the United States.

Marotti graduated with honours in law at Naples’ Federico II University.

His published articles include: The Search for Stability in the Mediterranean area, The Middle East after the First Golf War, The Reform of the UN governance, and Emerging of a European Security and Defence Policy.
