Katya Klinova is the Head of AI for Social and Humanitarian Action at the UN Secretary-General’s Innovation Lab where she is building infrastructure for accelerating beneficial AI capabilities the market is failing to deliver. Before that, Katya served as Acting Director of Research and Programs and as the Head of the Labor and Economy portfolio at the Partnership on AI (PAI) where she founded programs like the AI and Shared Prosperity Initiative and Responsible Sourcing Across the Data Supply Line program. Prior to PAI, Katya had a long career at Google, and conducted graduate research on the impact of AI on the economic growth prospects of low- and middle-income countries.

Katya holds an MPA in International Development from Harvard University, an M.Sc. in Networks and Data Science from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Her work and commentary have been published by ACM/AAAI, Brookings, MIT Technology Review, Oxford University Press, WIRED, Business Insider, Al Jazeera, and others.
