Rachel Oluwatuyi is a researcher working at the intersection of Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Her work focuses on community-based digital innovation and aligning emerging technologies within diverse social and community contexts. She adopts co-design approaches to support the development of equitable, accessible, and socially impactful technological solutions that contribute to sustainable and community-centered development. Rachel is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa, where her research examines approaches to empowering communities to engage critically and responsibly with AI technologies. She also serves as a Research Assistant in the HCI Lab at UCT, contributing to projects that explore AI-enabled technologies for sustainable food systems and alternative approaches to addressing agricultural challenges.
