Alberto is Co-Founder & Managing Director of Forgepoint Capital, the largest and most active sector-focused cybersecurity venture capital firm with over $1B AUM and forty portfolio companies. A serial entrepreneur, executive, and investor in cybersecurity, Alberto has a track record of building global businesses and leading them to successful exits. At Forgepoint, he led investments in Attivo Networks (acquired by SentinelOne) Area 1 (acquired by Cloudflare), BehavioSec (acquired by LexisNexis Risk Solutions/RELX) and currently serves on the boards of Constella Intelligence, CyberCube, Huntress, NowSecure, ReversingLabs, and Uptycs.

Prior to Forgepoint, Alberto was a Managing Director at Trident Capital where he led cybersecurity investments including AlienVault (acquired by AT&T), Solera Networks (acquired by BlueCoat/Symantec), BlueCat Networks (acquired by Madison Dearborn) and Neohapsis (acquired by Cisco).  He also served on the board of Qualys prior to its IPO.

Prior to VC, Alberto was the Founder, Chairman and CEO of enCommerce (acquired by Entrust), Co-CEO and President of Entrust (acquired by Thoma Bravo), and Chairman and CEO of Thor Technologies (acquired by Oracle). He was also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Warburg Pincus, a venture consultant at Bain Capital and a consultant to the U.S. Department of Defense as part of the DeVenCI Initiative. Earlier in his career, Alberto spent 10 years at Apple in senior management roles driving key product and global market development initiatives. He was also Vice President of Security and Identity at Oracle.

Alberto serves as the Chairman Emeritus of the Hispanic IT Executive Council (HITEC). He was previously on the Board of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), the Board of Trustees of the University of San Francisco and member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Technology Pioneers Community.Alberto holds a BS from the University of San Francisco, where he studied computer science and electronic physics. He also attended the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria in Lima, Perú. He is recognized by Fortune as one of the top VCs Dominating Cybersecurity Investing and on TAG Cyber’s “Fifty to Watch: People Shaping Cyber” list.
