Eric Wenger is Senior Director for Cyber and Emerging Technology Policy at Cisco Systems where he leads the company’s global government affairs work on a range of policy issues related to cybersecurity, AI, and quantum. He came to Cisco from Microsoft, where he was Policy Counsel. Before the private sector, Eric served in federal and state, civil and criminal law enforcement agencies. He was a Trial Attorney in the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division and a Special Assistant United States Attorney in DC’s Computer Hacking & Intellectual Property Unit. Eric served as an Attorney in the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection and as a Commissioner’s Attorney Advisor. He was Assistant Attorney General and Deputy Bureau Chief in New York, where he started the first statewide e-commerce law enforcement unit in the nation. Eric earned his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and graduated with Honors from George Washington University Law School. In 2026, he will Chair the White Hat Gala to benefit Children’s National Hospital.
