Hamed Alemohammad is an Associate Professor in the Graduate School of Geography and Director of the Center for Geospatial Analytics at Clark University. He is a technical leader and interdisciplinary scholar with deep expertise in remote sensing, Earth science, and artificial intelligence (AI). His research lies at the intersection of geospatial analytics, AI, and geography, with a focus on leveraging Earth observations to better understand the changing Earth system. In recent years, his work has increasingly focused on applications and benchmarking of geospatial foundation models. Hamed has experience in developing benchmark datasets for various agricultural targets including field boundary delineation, crop land mapping and crop type mapping. Over the years, he has worked with stakeholders in several African countries to establish benchmarks for mapping agricultural practices at sub- and national levels.
Hamed also serves as a member of the Technical Advisory Committee of Digital Earth Africa. He received his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from MIT.
