Scott C. Taylor

Board Member, Strategic Advisor and Former General Counsel

Scott C. Taylor has more than two decades of executive experience in the technology industry, notably including 13 years of experience in cybersecurity.  He currently serves on the boards of Ziff Davis, Piper Sandler Companies, One Medical, Western Technology Investment and Emtrain.

From 2007 to 2020, Scott served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of Symantec (now NortonLifeLock), a leading provider of cybersecurity software and services.  In that role he was responsible for overseeing global information security strategy in addition to all legal, compliance and government relations functions at the company.

Prior to Symantec, Scott was Chief Administrative Officer, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Phoenix Technologies, and, prior to Phoenix Technologies, he was Vice President and General Counsel of Narus.  Scott began his legal career as a corporate attorney with the San Francisco-based law firm Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro (now, Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman), and previously served on the boards of DigiCert, VirnetX and VeriSign Japan K.K.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Stanford University and a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School.
