Shinichi Yokohama is Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the entire Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation and CEO of NTT Security. He also has been responsible for cybersecurity public advocacy to talk to thought leaders in academia, government, and industry globally, especially Japan, Asia, Europe, and the United States. He has given numerous talks at high-level conferences.

Before starting this cybersecurity role in July 2014, he led a team for post-acquisition integration of overseas operations at NTT DATA. Prior to joining NTT, he was with McKinsey Japan for 18 years. At McKinsey, he focused on the telecom and high-tech industries and led its Technology Practice. 

He originally served the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for 8 years after obtaining a Bachelor of Engineering degree (nuclear engineering) from the University of Tokyo. He also has a master’s degree in Public Policy from the Kennedy School of Harvard.
