Zara Abdurahaman is a doctoral candidate and AI/Tech policy researcher at the RAND School of Public Policy focused on AI governance, emerging technology policy, and the relationship between technology and society. Her work has examined AI safety, AI evaluations, dual-use and emerging technology risks, and ethical and human-centered approaches to technology governance. Her aim is to help shape ethical, human-focused AI governance that promotes accountability, reduces harm, while supporting socially beneficial innovation.
