Public AI University Chapters

The Challenge

In the last year, for the first time since the widespread adoption of generative AI, the share of young Americans (18-29) who said that they were more concerned than excited about AI exceeded 50%. At the same time, this demographic is one of the fastest and most consistent adopters of the technology. Students’ futures will be significantly shaped by these technologies. They deserve to influence how they are built, used, and governed.

Our Approach

Aspen Digital is recruiting student leaders to establish public AI chapters at institutions of higher education across the United States and around the world. Public AI University Chapters will offer a peer network and leadership development opportunities, while equipping students with skills to shape the AI ecosystem to be more accessible, accountable, and sustainable. These chapters will serve as the launching pad for rising policymakers, technologists, and activists who know that another AI is possible.
